Media Dramatizations and the Reactions of the Audience
second funding stage (2018-2021)
The project focuses on the various types of dramatization of crime in real crime shows. It takes their temporal (and international) development into account, but is first and foremost interested in the feedback on behalf of the audiences and the public. The project takes the ZDF-series “Aktenzeichen XY…ungelöst” as a starting point which is considered to be a kind of prototype of this TV format. The project analyses to what extent the interest in crime detection on the one hand and in tension/thrill on the other hand of both producers and audience fostered securitized discourses on crime.
